WISE WOMAN: WORKSHOP

With a heady collision of lush vocal harmonies, cinematic cello and 90s girl power, Wise Woman weave songs of hidden, forgotten and fabulous women.
Formed in the darkness of a pandemic winter, the group’s “startling and shimmering” (Folk Wales) songwriting blend of folk, jazz, and musical theatre sounds, has seen them enchant audiences far and wide, from guesting on Radio 3’ In Tune to opening for Radio 2 Folk Award Winners The Young Uns to festival appearances ranging from Celtic Connections to Secret Garden Party.
Their live touring shows see them journeying through their acclaimed new single Home Safe (2024), debut EP Thread (2022), as well as their innovative, arrangements of traditional folk favourites. From fenland witches, to Boudicca, to the smoky underbelly of 1905 New Orleans, their intricate music transport audiences on a theatrical dream ride, through forgotten worlds and everyday treasures.
