Award-winning theatre company Half a String present a magical Christmas treat and a daring quest to fix winter!

What can unite the grumpy town of Thawmor this winter?

Legends tell of soft white snow that blankets the ground, and inventor Eira is determined to bring it back. So grab your goggles and join her madcap adventure as she battles a fearsome whale, explores an abandoned mine, and meets herds of goats whilst finding unlikely friends in the strangest of places.

Get lost in a world of breathtaking puppetry, live songs and folk music, all led by captivating storytellers. Discover this original winter tale that will enthral the whole family, and answer the question: will it snow this winter?

Our Christmas House Band Jazz Club tickets flew off the shelf and so for one night only we’re bringing in the big guns - THE LATE SHOW.

Join our Christmas house band for a straight through set (11pm-midnight) bringing your favourite Christmas tunes to life with our fantastic house band. A fantastic late night evening - New Orleans style Christmas music led by Alex Western-King.

Join us on the third Thursday of every month for an evening of Jazz, delicious food and drinks a plenty in an intimate cabaret style setting.

In partnership with Winchester Jazz Festival and Alex Western-King we will host some of the UK’s best Jazz musicians on the third Thursday of every month. Pizza served by Proven Slice - pre-order below.

The Nutshell warmly invites you to join us for our Alternative Christmas Makers Market; a celebration of independent designers and makers from Winchester and the surrounding areas.

This hand-curated market will feature some of the areas most talented independent crafters, who will be on hand to discuss their creative process, tools and techniques as well as selling their finest products. This Makers Market offers an authentic shopping experience, where visitors can buy unique handmade products, meet local creatives and support Winchester-based talent.

This two-day event will run on Friday 6th December from 5-10pm and Saturday 7th December from 10am-4pm.
