NOSFERATU WITH LIVE SCORE

F.W. Murnau’s classic silent film Nosferatu continues to haunt and terrify audiences. This first-ever screen adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula captures the deeply-rooted elements of a waking nightmare. Its eerie, Gothic feel - and chilling performance from Max Shrek as the vampire - set the template for horror films that followed.

A ship is wrecked on the rocks of Illyria. Viola is washed ashore but her twin brother Sebastian is lost. Determined to survive on her own, she steps out to explore a new land, in the guise of Cesario, servant to the Duke of Illyria, Orsino. So begins a whirlwind of mistaken identity and unrequited love as the nearby households of Olivia and Orsino are overrun with passion.

Even Olivia's upright housekeeper Malvolia is swept up in the madness. Viola falls in love with Orsino, who dotes on Olivia, who falls for Cesario (aka Viola), but is idolised by Malvolia. Enter Sebastian, who is the spitting image of his twin sister...

Where music is the food of love, and nobody is quite what they seem, anything proves possible.
